Next week, the cafe in the heart of Citygarden will reopen. Kaldi’s Coffee will open its downtown location in the beautiful sculpture park on July 18.
The store has been closed temporarily since March 2020 due to the pandemic. The space will start with a limited menu including coffee, tea, smoothies, and bakery items from Companion.
Kaldi’s owners have been looking to Citygarden return since the beginning of this year. Tyler Zimmer, Kaldi’s cofounder, says that they have been trying to reopen for six months. “Once we had the staff in place it felt like the right time.”
The cafe will open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Zimmer hopes to increase the number of food and beverage choices in the future.
This location was first opened in spring 2017. Kaldi’s also has locations in Clayton and Kirkwood, Chesterfield as well as the Central West End, Washington University’s campus and Parkview. On July 25, a new location will open in Ellisville with drive-thru services.
